It's not so much that it's a good day to bike to work, as that it's a lousy day to try to get to work any other way.

On the other hand, it's definitely a great day to wear an Aloha shirt.

No, though it might not be a bad idea. Biking home was still pretty reasonable, though, apart from the dreadful traffic. I'm glad I didn't take the bus; the 80 might have been fine but I saw a disabled 88 on the way in and watched a 91 bus hit a telephone pole on my way home.

In case you're worried, the collision seems to have been worse for the pole than for the bus, and it appeared that everyone on the bus was OK.
