Aside from the utter obnoxiousness of double parking, I don't think visiting Blockbuster and thinking television is basically evil are all that incongruous.
What I really hate about television is the way I can get sucked into watching completely idiotic stuff just because someone was channel-surfing past it and it "hooked" me, and the way I can get with a series, where I really want to know what happens next.
Watching a DVD, whether it's of a TV show or of a movie, is a completely different experience. It's something I do on my own schedule, and I get to see exactly what I wanted to see. I don't even have to watch any ads.
I certainly agree that television is basically evil, and yet there is one in my house which we use to watch the DVDs that Netflix sends us. But I still find the juxtaposition amusing, both in my own life and in others'.
