life in geekville
Jan. 4th, 2004 08:09 pmDuring dinner at the Royal East one of my dining companions asked me to email him something. Afraid that I would forget, I hauled out my laptop to compose the email, and sure enough -- there were no fewer than three open wireless networks covering the restaurant.
I think this sort of thing is why I don't lock down my own wireless -- it's just too handy to be able to shoot bits around, and my exposure from leaving it open is small enough that I can contribute to a society of openness without worrying about the personal consequences.
