Although it didn't frost last night where I live, it did nearby, thus kicking off the inexorable fiery decline of all things deciduous. I was all set to wax poetic about the milestone passed, but there's a better candidate:

This is the time when one rediscovers all the stuff one has left in one's jacket pockets all summer long.
