In preparation for our party at the end of October, I went all through the house replacing a bunch of light bulbs which had burned out. There were quite a few of them, including 4 of the 5 75-watt par-30 track lights in the office, which had been out for weeks.

Today I opened up the electric bill for October. It's noticeably smaller than usual for this time of year.
