The street I live on is a steady uphill from the bottom turn, and about an 8.5% grade on the block I'm on. I've regularly had trouble with it, particularly after a longer ride. I fairly regularly see one older woman, probably also around 70ish, hunched over her handlebars, slowly but surely and steadily cranking her way past my house. I'm impressed.

Might have been Lee Evans, former 65+ World Champion, or Julie Lockhardt, who has been a 65+ national champ a few times, I think. Both live in the area and are members of the Northeast Bicycle Club, which is my team. =)
