I remember staying up all night soldering patch bays once. For me, staying up really late seemed to help with the required concentration- no one else was in the shop to interrupt my work...
Working late helps to eliminate the distractions, but the problem is that once you get past a certain point of staying up really late, you're likely to unintentionally sabotage yourself.
I'm jealous. For us, midnight was often "well, it has to go to the customer tomorrow, so let's go across the street to the Dunkin Donuts at the gas station and get some coffee" time. :)
