One of the things I miss about living in the DC area is that there was a terrific food coop a block and a half from our apartment in Silver Spring. There are such things in Boston, of course, but I don't go to them; the nearby Star Market is Good Enough (and for some things quite good indeed) and on the crunchy scale walking to Porter vs. driving to Central makes more of a difference in my head than where the nitrates the farmer used came from.

But I was in Central Square anyway yesterday, and stopped in to Harvest to pick up a few things that I can't get at Star. And realized that I was going to take half those things with me to work, which is nearby in Kendall Square. Duh! I can stop at Harvest on my way to or from work, and pick things up then. It's a bit out of the way, but not really a burden, and I'll get to have yummy snax.
