shayde gives me some advice on picking my objects to make them tougher to figure out. Ah, but the objective is not to make them tough to figure out, but to make them fun to figure out. An object that's a little bit in the news can provide that bit of hint that makes the puzzle solvable.

Interestingly, scliff (who answered first) was able to come up with a good picture of this object but not its name. That wasn't a possibility that had occurred to me.
