It's too bad Mitt Romney is running for President. He'd be the perfect candidate to run the World Bank.

OK, there are other reasons why it's too bad he's running for President. And I can think of people I'd rather have running the World Bank, too. But it is a political appointment, after all.

I'd say the real perfect candidate would be George Soros. Except (a) of course there's no chance of that, and (b) he's already personally funding the Open Society Institute, which is probably a more useful institution than the World Bank anyway.

There still is a chance that Mitt might end up somewhere like the World Bank; if he doesn't get the Republican nomination, he has to do something. :-)
