(Clue on Wikipedia page for the town, confirmed from Street View. In Australia, Street View seems to blur anything vaguely round that might be a face, but not Yowie...)
If you zoom in from the zoom level in the link, you get nothing. Keep zooming in, though, and eventually Google will pick the nearest street view pic that points in the right direction, and put the coordinates from the link more or less in the middle of the frame. The statue is a little hard to make out, but his pedestal is pretty clear, and you can see the pedestal in the Wikipedia picture of him.
