free stuff?

Anyone want an abacus or some hotel key-cards? ISTR someone on my flist telling me there was a collector's market for the cards -- most of mine are boring but I have one from Hotel Avante and a few other pretty ones. Pictures here.

Huh. I just threw out probably 10,000 badges and maybe 50 hotel cards. Conventions that only some people are interested in i guess.

Think there'll be a market for blank Arisia 2004 badges in 10 years?

Ooo, the abacus sounds lovely. I've got a bunch of slide-rules tucked away in a closet here. Math department of a high school I used to work out was going to throw them out when we were cleaning a closet there one day, so I offered to take them off their hands instead. :)

Where are you? I'm not sure this abacus is really valuable enough to warrant shipping it.

Minnesota, nowadays, actually. Twin Cities metro

I'll happily take the key-cards, as there are a surprising number of different encodings used with them and I find the technology interesting.
I wouldn't trade more for them than a 70's vintage Delaware Turnpike map (that I was going to give you anyway), though, so if they're worth real money to somebody you should totally go do that.

Sounds like a deal!
