Trek currently makes some of their bikes in the US and some in Taiwan; the 520 is in the latter category. Which is a small minus in my bike, but not enough of one to keep me from buying what really did turn out to be exactly the right bike for my ride.
I'm not sure when the next time I'll get to ride out in your direction will be, but a comparison would be a lot of fun.
